Here's a Summary of the anime "An Akane to Remember"
(I hope it's not confusing):
When Akane was little she and her family went on a trip to Ryugenzawa. She got lost and was attacked by a giant platypus, however she was saved by a little boy, who gave her a whistle. Well, time passes and Akane goes back to Ryugenzawa and learns that the boy's name is Shinnosuke, he and his grandfather watch over the forest making sure the gigantic animals don't bother the villages. Akane also learns that Shinnosuke's living on borrowed time. He was badly injured after saving her and was on the verge of dying. So his grandfather gives him some water of life and it saves him. The water is also the reason the animals are so huge. But the spring is drying up and it's only a short time before Shinnosuke dies. So Akane vows to stay with him and prevent that from happening. Which doesn't sit too good with Ranma, who went looking for her, since he's extremely jealous of Akane wanting to stay with Shinnosuke. And he has good reason to be because Shinnosuke has fallen in love with Akane and tells her, in front of Ryoga in pig form. Well, while all that's going on a monster is awakening, the eight headed orochi, whose got a thing for women and booze in the manga version. This monster has moss on one of it's heads and that moss can cure Shinnosuke. So Akane dresses like a boy and bravely goes to get some. She is able to get it and throw it to Shinnosuke's grandfather. However, the orochi can tell she's a women and takes her to it's under water layer. While underwater Akane almost says how she truly feels about Ranma but blacks out before she says the l-word. Anyways, Ranma saves her and Shinnosuke gets the moss rubbed on his back and is also saved. However the monster's still up and about and Ranma feels it's up to him to stop it. Ranma prances around the monster, in girl form, and trys to make the heads fight with each other. However he gets caught by one and is about to eaten. Akane pulls out the whistle Shinnosuke gave her and it turns out it is from a horned mongoose, the orochi's only enemy and can put the legendary monster back to sleep. So Akane gets the hot water P-chan was boiling and goes to help Ranma. She splashes him with it, he jumps to push her out of an orochi's mouth, and she blows the whistle. Thus the orochi goes back to sleep, Ryoga goes on his way, Shinnosuke and his grandfather thank Akane for everything, Ranma and Akane go home (holding hands), and Shinnosuke wishes he told Akane how he truly felt, he had forgotten he told her, he's got a problem remembering things.
